R.I.P. Bobby Flores
Gulf Association has lost longtime member “Big Bobby” Robert Flores who most knew simply as “El Jefe”. Bobby was a selfless man with a humongous heart. He was a disciple of Walt Hailey and established boxing gyms in the East End, South Houston & Pasadena areas. After a legendary cult-like professional career in which he knocked out many opponents in a matter of only a few seconds in front of passion-filled friends, he became a sought after boxing/striking coach and imparted his wisdom on many combative sports athletes.
Always smiling, always positive, Bobby touched the lives of so many of us. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives and he’ll be remembered forever.
