Houston’s Marlen Esparza claimed victory over Cancan Ren of China in a USA Boxing international duel in Atlanta. Read more at USA Boxing’s press release. Marlen is having an amazing 2015 campaign, having already won the 2015 AIBA Women’s World Championships and currently holding the World #1 ranking at Flyweight.
Previously, Ren had defeated Esparza twice, in the 2012 AIBA Women’s World Championships and in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This meeting proved drastically different with Marlen taking the Unanimous Decision victory en route to also winning the Most Outstanding Boxer of the event trophy.
